How it works
English Literature

Monthly course over 2 days (every third Sat & Sunday of each month). 8 hours of teaching from £35.99 per month

Signing up to our English Literature course means you will get access to revision sessions for a number of different books.

GCSE English Students will need to study one post 1914 text, one 19 th Century novel, One Shakespeare play and a Poetry anthology. In view of this, we will be teaching the literature course over 2 days.

Saturday (English Literature DAY 1)

English Language

WEEKLY course (19:30-21:00 Every Wednesday) from £35.99 per month

This is a weekly course for GCSE English Language. Each Session will be on a Thursday evening 7:30pm till 9 pm. Each week students will go through different unseen passages, looking to build up their skills in analysis for the exam. While being given key tips on how to improve their writing technique.
Class Set-up
English Literature

Before the class students will be sent a synopsis of the Text, to help them tackle the key themes studied in the session. They will also be given serval passages to look over and analyse in their own time.

On the day, the students will get access to the live sessions by logging onto Microsoft Teams. During the session the tutors will go through one of the major themes of the play looking at passages and quotes to support ideas. They will also go through the passage the students have reviewed in their own time. There will then be an emphasis on essay questions, teaching students to plan for a variety of essays that could come up in an exam related to that theme.
English Language

Before the class students will be given a short exercise, this will be reviewed in the class.

On the day, the students will get access to the live sessions by logging onto Microsoft Teams. During the session they will then review one passage, practising how to break it down and answer an essay question on it. They will then look at a writing task either creative or persuasive. The emphasis will be on building those skill and techniques need for the English Language paper.
